THE STORY BEHIND: TORAH - תורה

The word Torah is a transliterated common noun of the Classical Hebrew, not its translation. The translation comes from the verb root הרה harah meaning “teaching; source of instruction; implant and absorb seed; parent implanting seeds of knowledge; conceiving; becoming pregnant”. It does not interpret to the word Law


The word Law is the traditional interpretation of the word Torah and is misappropriated. The word Law is a half-transliterated word from the classical Hebrew verb root לוה lawah. The translation of the word means “being attached; connect; join for mutual benefit”. It is the verb root for one of the names of the tribes of Yisra’eil, the Leiwiyim (Levites).  


In Beginnings, Leiah believed that her husband would be attached to her with the birth of her third son; indeed, Ya’aqov (Jacob) also believed that she was connected to YHWH because of this third birthing, and he called his name “Leiwi” (Levi). 

(Gen. 29:34 - NKJV - She conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi.)

Because of the zeal of the Leiwiyim (Levites) for YHWH, even against family members and companions at Mount Sinai Names, Powers attached them to Himself, and to the Aaronic priesthood, as stewards of His dwelling place, with the Torah. 

(Exodus 32:26 - NKJV - Then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on Yahweh's (the Lord’s) side—come to me!” And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.)

The Torah included the origin, purpose, failure, and plan of redemption for Yisra'eil, and ultimately mankind within the first five books of the scriptures. The accounts of the scriptures after the first five books record how that plan of redemption was submitted to or not.

In other words, out of the 39 accounts (books) of the first covenant (Old Testament), 34 are accounts (books) chronicling the consequences of Yisra'eils' obedience/submission to, or disregard/rebellion away from, the first 5.  



Also, being called the 5 Books of Mosheh (Moses), they are the foundation of what, who, and why, mankind exists, and teaches us how to serve and worship our Creator. Within it there is a prophesy about YHWH raising up a prophet like unto Mosheh who will only speak His words, and whoever will not hear those words which He will speak in His name, it will be required of him. Yeshua the Messiah (anointed), He came and He gave witness that He was that Prophet prophesied about in the Torah, and He fulfilled its requirements in our stead. Praise Him!!!  

In my exegetical translating of the Torah, I found that all of the New Covenant principles of Yeshua's teachings were hidden therein. So the First Covenant (Torah) is the 2nd, or New Covenant, concealed, and the 2nd, or New Covenant, is the First Covenant (Torah) revealed, in Yeshua of course.  

And now we see that the completion of the Torah is an anointing into satisfying objective justice i.e. righting wrongs, making corrections against humanity like Yeshua, that is making the dysfunctional, functional. YHWH also prophesied that the new covenant He will make with us will involve putting His Torah in our inward parts, and writing it upon our hearts (mind). 

(Jeremiah 31:33 - NKJV - But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh (the Lord): I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their [a]hearts; and I will be their Powers (God), and they shall be My people.) 

So, it appears that the Torah (instructions/teachings) needs to be foundational in our daily reading of the Scriptures.
